Applying Circle: Getting USDCs

USDC: USDC is a US dollar reserve jointly issued by the exchange giant Coinbase and Circle, a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs. Circle is a licensed cash flow service provider in the United States, and cash flow service providers must comply with federal laws and regulations. Therefore, USDC is also regulated by the United States and audited by Grant Thornton LLP, the seventh largest accounting firm in the world.
Stablecoin: Stablecoin refers to a currency with a stable value. It has the characteristics of stable price based on the most commonly used fiat money (Fiat money) as the basic value. We recommend that ordinary investors use *USDC when they are new to "cryptocurrency".

USDC is a *stable currency jointly issued by the exchange giant Coinbase and the Cicle company under the Goldman Sachs Group. USDC is available in many countries around the world, including Taiwan, through ordinary banks.

For "purchasing USDC" and "in exchange with USD" in a bank in Taiwan, you would need to apply:

  1. Bank foreign currency account
  2. Circle account

Step 1: Apply for a foreign currency account

Please apply for a foreign currency account at your bank first. After you obtain a bank foreign currency account, please take notes of the bank's "SWIFT code", "bank English name" and "bank English address", which will be required when applying for a Circle account.

Step 2: Apply for a Circle account

Please note: Please use English to fill in the name and address of the Circle account. Please choose a passport for the license item. The name must be the same as the English name on your passport. The anti-counterfeit laser mark of the passport will reflect light and obscure the text at certain angles, so the mobile phone camera must obtain an appropriate angle to avoid it.

Below is the URL for Circle to open an account. Circle has a website in Chinese. The application for an account is very user-friendly. You can easily complete the application as long as you follow the guidelines:

Your account is currently under review. We will regularly check account information to protect your financial security and ensure Circle becomes a safe platform. After the account review is complete, you will receive an email from Circle. This process usually takes up to 2 working days. Thanks for your patience.
After the review, you will receive an email notification from Circle and you can start using the USDC deposit and withdrawal service.
Before purchasing USDC (tokenized U.S. dollar) through a bank, Circle will ask you to fill in the bank's foreign currency account information.
Generally, banks in Taiwan will charge a handling fee of TWD 300 for USDC deposits and withdrawals. The handling fee is paid to the bank instead of Circle.

Step 3: Buy USDC through the bank

After the account application is completed, Circle will provide you with a Circle personal USD account. To purchase USDC, you only need to use the bank's foreign currency account remittance service (recommended to use online banking, fast and convenient), transfer USD to the personal USD account provided by Circle, and USDC stable currency will appear in your Circle account after three to seven days.

Usually, Taiwan’s bank will call to ask you the source of this dollar.

Step 4: Exchange USDC back to U.S. dollars

It is very easy to use Circle to exchange USDC back into US dollars. Just fill in the amount of USDC to be withdrawn on Circle, and Circle will transfer the equivalent US dollars to your Taiwanese personal bank foreign currency account.

2. Install Etherwallet using MetaMask

*Artem service currently only supports MetaMask etherwallet browser plug-in, not MetaMask mobile ether wallet app.

MetaMask wallet is a * browser plug-in, currently supports Google Chrome, Firefox. It should be noted that MetaMask does not support Apple's Safari browser.

Like most wallets, MetaMask does not store user information. All wallet private keys and passwords are held by the user. Even if MetaMask stops updating, the user can transfer the private key to other wallets. Get your cryptocurrency back.

The following MetaMask wallet installation uses Google Chrome as an example.

Step 1: Search for Metamask browser plug-in

Open google chrome, enter "online application store", search for <strong>Metamask</strong>. After you find it, click the blue "Add to Chrome" button at the top right.

Step 2: Start using Metamask

Metamask is successfully installed, click the blue button "Get Started".

Step 3: Import or create a new wallet

You can enter "mnemonic phrase" to import existing wallet data into a new wallet, or create a new wallet.

Step 4: Create a password

You must enter a password with more than eight digits.

Step 5: Copy and save the mnemonic phrase

Click the gray box to display the words, take a pen to copy or copy and save them in sequence. Next, you will be asked to fill in the words you copied in the original order.

Step 6: Successful installation

Then you can transfer USDC from Circle account to MetaMask wallet.

3. Transfer USDC from Circle to MetaMask

Circle restricts you to only transfer USDC to addresses that you have "added" to your USDC account and verified. If you choose "Transfer USDC" without adding the withdrawal address to your account in advance, the system will prompt you to add an address. This option is also available in the "Select Address" drop-down list on the "Transfer Out of USDC" screen.

When you finish adding the address, you can transfer the USDC in the Circle account to the Ethereum address of the MetaMask wallet. Proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the Circle account and click "Transfer USDC".
  2. Add and confirm the Ethereum address of your MetaMask wallet.
  3. Select the Ethereum address (your MetaMask wallet address) you want to withdraw from the drop-down list.
  4. Select the amount you want to send. The amount sent to the withdrawal address will be the amount you specified, minus the service fee charged by Circle. This amount will be displayed in the "Total USDC Transferred" field.
  5. Click "Transfer USDC" with the mouse to view the transfer information, and then click again to confirm to send.
  6. Verify this transaction through the 2FA mechanism.
  7. USDC will be deducted from your Circle account, and the transaction record will be visible in the "Transaction History" at the bottom of the main screen.
  8. MetaMask wallet will display the USDC you transferred.

4. Link MetaMask wallet and Artem service

Artem services require public chain wallets to link smart contracts. Therefore, to activate Artem service, you need to connect MetaMask and Artem first.

Step 1: Enter Artem loan service

Open Artem's website and click on the black "Enter Service" arrow at the bottom left.

Step 2: Link MetaMask and Artem

After entering the main screen of the Artem service, you need to open the authorization connection of the MetaMask wallet to connect MetaMask and Artem. Please click "Link MetaMask" at the top right of MetaMask.

Step 3: Artem starts successfully

Congratulations on your successful launch of Artem. You can now freely borrow and borrow cryptocurrencies and assets.

5. Artem Service: Deposit USDC to earn interest

Now let's try to deposit a little USDC to enter Artem. Even if there are only a few blocks of time (tens of seconds), you can get interest, which is a very interesting thing.

Step 1: Deposit USDC

First, click to deposit USDC:

Enter the amount of USDC to be deposited, and then click the "Deposit Assets" button.

Step 3: Enter the amount of ether gas on MetaMask

MetaMask will automatically pop out, enter the amount of ether gas you want to pay on MetaMask as the ether fee, and then click the "confirm" button.

Step 4: Successfully earn interest

After depositing into USDC and confirming, within a few blocks of time (tens of seconds), you will find a little more interest.

The ARTT in the red box shows the ARTT in your MetaMask wallet. The ARTT in the blue box shows the ARTT on your Artem. ARTT on Artem will be automatically transferred to the MetaMask wallet when you borrow next time, and Ethereum will charge gas at the same time.

Step 5: Successfully earn governance token ARTT

While successfully earning interest, based on the "liquidity mining" reward, you will find that there is also a little more governance token ARTT.

6. Artem Service: Borrow USDC

Now let us try to borrow a little USDC to come out.

Step 1: Borrow USDC

First, we click to borrow USDC

Step 2: Enter the USDC number

Enter the amount of USDC to be borrowed, and then click the "Lend Assets" button.

Step 3: Enter the amount of ether gas on MetaMask

MetaMask will automatically pop out, enter the amount of ether gas you want to pay on MetaMask as the ether fee, and then click the "confirm" button.

Step 4: Successfully borrow assets

After confirming the loan of USDC, within a few blocks (tens of seconds), you will find that there is more USDC.

The ARTT in the red box shows the ARTT in your MetaMask wallet. The ARTT in the blue box shows the ARTT on your Artem. ARTT on Artem will be automatically transferred to the MetaMask wallet when you borrow next time, and Ethereum will charge gas at the same time.

Step 5: Successfully earn governance token ARTT

While successfully lending assets, based on the "liquidity mining" reward, you will find that there is also a little more governance token ARTT.
